The East Brow Lookout Residence sits on a major bluff overlooking the city of Chattanooga. Adjacent to an historic Civil War battleground site, the property is passed by visiting tourists frequently every day. The client wished to maintain a sense of privacy from the street side traffic while preserving the pristine views of the city, valley, and mountains beyond. This client had an exhaustive list of specifics they wanted to incorporate into the design of the home and property. The layout of the residence wraps around an existing pool that was preserved and renovated. Stone, stucco, wood, glass, and metal are the primary exterior materials used to create a clean modern backdrop for a lush landscape. The interior of the residence celebrates the exterior. The client was adamant about creating a very minimal interior with little to distract one’s attention from the views.
