Nestled in a forest of oak, elm, and hickory trees, the Baggett Trail Residence will serve a large family seeking to be close to nature. The eight acre property slopes down to the edge of a ravine along which the Cumberland Trail traverses. The house is situated uphill, on a small knoll. Connection to the surrounding landscape was a primary driver of the selected design, and each of the three pavilions that make up the residence feature clear views through the structure. These pavilions wrap around a courtyard and pool, with openings at the corners for breezes and plants to enter. A palette of natural materials was envisioned to blend the home harmoniously into the surrounding forest.
